New models and tools come out every week, yet in companies many generative AI projects stay experiments. In this edition of **Talks On My Machine** we talked about taking them to production.

We covered:

- **Semantic search**: how splitting documents into chunks decides the relevance of RAG answers
- **AI inference on Kubernetes**: deploying and scaling models in production, on-premise and in the cloud
- **AI in the designer's work**: how AI tools change the design process
- **A critical view**: open source AI, reliability, uncertainty and testing of agent-based applications

- **9:45 - 10:30** Software, Uncertainty, and Generative AI: Toward New Development Practices, Enrico Zimuel: Generative AI as a support tool and as a software system component. Advantages, limits, reliability, and testing of agent-based applications.
- **10:30 - 11:15** Deploy, Scale, Serve: Managing AI Inference Engines on Kubernetes, Daniele Monti & Andrea Panisson: State of the art of AI model deployment on Kubernetes with kubernetes-sigs/lws and vLLM. On-premise and cloud implementation for regulatory compliance.
- **11:15 - 12:00** Smart Chunks, Better Search, Roberto Peruzzo: Chunking as a critical element for RAG. Tools (PyPDFParser, MarkItDown, Unstructured.io, Marker) and strategies (fixed size, semantic, sliding window).
- **12:00 - 12:45** AI as Strategic Co-pilot: Toward a New Augmented Design, Davide Salvadori: Generative AI as a co-pilot for designers. New processes, automation, and optimization of design decisions.
- **12:45 - 12:55** Q&A and Closing, SparkFabrik: Questions and answers with speakers
