# Drupal Global Contribution Day 2026.

Our day of the Drupal Global Contribution Weekend: in Milan we celebrated 25 years of Drupal by contributing to the project.

Thank you to everyone who took part. A few days before Drupal's twenty-fifth birthday we met at our Milan office to contribute to the project, with people who have known it for years and people who were just starting.

### The Global Contribution Weekend

Every year, on the last weekend of January, the Drupal community meets in local groups and online sessions to work on the project. Other communities call these code sprints; for Drupal, contributing is more than writing code.

### Who could contribute

The day was open to everyone, at any level of experience:

- developers: bugs, patches, core features, new modules;
- translators, bringing the documentation into their language;
- technical writers, since there is always plenty to do on documentation;
- marketers, with ideas to make Drupal better known;
- frontend developers, because Drupal has a lot of frontend code to maintain too.

### How to take part

Our office at Via Gustavo Fara 9 could host up to 20 people. Anyone outside Milan joined remotely, coordinating on the Drupal Association's [#drupal-italy](https://drupal.slack.com/archives/C26S8J7DY) Slack channel.

Open source software lives on people's time and skills: thank you to everyone who contributed on January 31.
