25 years of innovation: celebrating Drupal by giving back to the community

Just days after Drupal’s twenty-fifth birthday, we gather for what has become a regular appointment for anyone who believes in the power of open source software.

What is it about?

Drupal was created by people for people around the world.

Every year, during the last weekend of January, “Drupalistas” from around the globe meet in small local groups or virtual meetings to work side by side.

It’s a network of events that unites the entire Drupal community (one of the largest, most active, and longest-running open source communities).

How does it work?

In other communities, these events are also called “Code Sprints,” but contributing to the Drupal community is actually much broader and more inclusive.

Drupal needs diverse talents to continue being a reference point in the enterprise market!

• Want to write code? Hunt for bugs, develop patches, contribute to core features, or create a new module!
• Why not help translate documentation into your native language?
• Or are you good at writing documentation? There’s a lot to do on this front.
• Do you work in marketing? We need you: ideas to promote Drupal are welcome.
• Are you a frontend developer? Fantastic: Drupal isn’t just backend, but also a lot of frontend code that needs to be maintained.

There’s plenty to do in different areas, you certainly won’t be left with nothing to do!

Regardless of your skill level, we’re confident there’s something for everyone!

• When: Saturday, January 31st, 2026, starting at 10:00 AM
• Where: Via Gustavo Fara 9, Milan (at SparkFabrik offices)

We’ll host up to 20 people at SparkFabrik headquarters in Via Gustavo Fara 9 in Milan, others can join remotely (we’ll figure out the technical details later by coordinating on the #drupal-italy slack channel of the Drupal Association).
